Pastor Randy’s Corner
The Bible tells us that after the resurrection of Jesus Christ he met with disciples and instructed them on what they were to do next. We read these instructions in Matthew 28:18-20. And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”
This Great Commission is also meant for believers today. We are to do our best to reach those in our community and around our area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But I want you to know that we are not limited to just the area around us. We are to do our upmost to reach the world and we are blessed to have a family of missionaries to Mexico out of our church. What a joy it is to have a part in the ministry of David, Melanie, Ethan and Emily Powley. We are privileged to support them financially and in our prayers. We cannot all go abroad but we can certainly support those who do. We are the sending church, and it is our responsibility to support them in whatever ways we can.
Speaking of sending, I want to tell you about an important upcoming date. Mark this on your calendar! June 8th is Send Sunday and the Powley’s will be with us Sunday morning and Sunday evening. Sunday morning David will be sharing with us the emphasis of Send Sunday and the importance of what we do as a church to help send missionaries into mission fields. Sunday evening David will be giving us a report specific to our ministry in Mexico. After the report David will open it up for a time of Q&A. Please come and join us for that exciting and important day!
Thanks, Pastor Randy
